Undercell — Delete your account
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This page is for Undercell, published by UPSIDE Dariusz Majewski. It explains how to delete your leaderboard account and the data stored with it. A leaderboard account is created when you choose Post my time, switch on Post my times or send a challenge link, before any run is posted; if you never did, there is nothing to delete on our server.
Delete it in the app
- Open Undercell.
- Open Profile, then Leaderboard.
- Choose Delete my leaderboard account.
- Confirm when the game asks.
The deletion happens immediately. The game then switches Post my times off on that device, so it does not create a new account by itself.
Which account you delete. On Android with Google Play Games, a leaderboard account belongs to your Google Play Games profile. In the browser version, and on an Android device where Google Play Games is not available, it is a guest account that exists only in the browser or the app that created it: its secret access token is kept in the browser's site data or in the app's storage. On Android, Auto Backup can copy that token to your Google account backup and restore it after a reinstall, so reinstalling does not always lose the account. Accounts on different devices and platforms are separate, and the steps above delete only the account you are using on that device. If you posted from Android, delete in the Android app on that device. If you posted in a browser, delete in the same browser. If you cleared the browser's site data, switched browsers or cleared the app's data, or reinstalled the app without a restored backup, the game can no longer reach a guest account, because its secret access token is gone. If you choose Delete my leaderboard account on such a device, the game deletes nothing and says "Nothing was deleted. This device is not signed in to a leaderboard account. To remove times posted earlier, go to upside.com.pl/undercell/delete-account.html." A guest account like that can be removed only by the email request on this page. If you are not sure where your times were posted, delete by email too.
If you use one Play Games profile on more than one Android device. They share one account. Switch Post my times off on every device first, then delete from one of them. A device where it is still on creates a new account the next time you solve a board, and sends any runs it had waiting.
Delete it by email
If you cannot open the game, for example because you have uninstalled it, write to support@upside.com.pl with the subject "Delete my Undercell leaderboard account". Include the display name shown on the leaderboard. Our accounts hold no email address or password that we could check, and the name, board code and time of a ranked run are public on the leaderboard, so they do not prove the account is yours. Give us a detail that is not public instead: the board code, your time and the number of hints for a run of yours that got no place on the leaderboard, for example a run where you used hints or one you cleared after Try again. Those runs are not shown to anyone unless you sent them as a challenge link. We delete the account without undue delay and within one month at most. If we have reasonable doubts about who is asking and you cannot give such a detail, we may ask for more information or refuse the request (Article 12(6) GDPR).
If you cannot give such a detail. A Google Play Games account can always be deleted in the app: install the game on an Android device signed in to that Play Games profile and delete as described above, which proves the account is yours. A guest account with only ranked runs holds nothing but a generated name and public times, and nothing in it links it to you. We then cannot tell that it is yours, so we will tell you that and not delete it (Article 11(2) GDPR).
What is deleted
- Your display name stored on our server.
- Your account identifier (Google Play Games player ID, or the guest account ID) on our server.
- The hash of your access token, so the token stops working.
- All your posted runs: board codes, times, hint counts and replays.
- All your likes and dislikes of boards.
Your entries disappear from the leaderboard and their replays can no longer be opened. Challenge links to your runs stop working too. Deleted data also disappears from our backups within 7 days.
What is kept
- Your progress, history, trophies and kept boards on your own device. They never left it, so deleting the leaderboard account does not touch them. To remove them, uninstall the game or clear its data.
- Your Google Play Games profile on Android. It belongs to Google, not to us. Manage or delete it in your Google account settings.
- If we delete your account after an email request, the secret access token stays on your device or in your browser (and in your Google account backup, if Android backup copied it) but no longer works. To remove it, clear the site data or the app's data. Deleting in the app removes the token as well.
- Copies other people already made of your public leaderboard entry, such as a screenshot or a replay they saved. We cannot recall those.
- Server request logs (with your country, never your IP address), which are kept for 90 days, as described in the privacy policy.
After deleting
The game keeps working as before. If you choose Post my time or switch on Post my times again later, a new leaderboard account is created, and your old times do not come back. The exception is another Android device on the same Play Games profile that still has Post my times on; see "If you use one Play Games profile on more than one Android device" above.
Deleting single times
To delete one or more of your posted times and their replays but keep your leaderboard account, write to the same email address. Name the board codes of the times to delete. We check that the account is yours in the same way as for deleting the whole account, and delete those times and replays without undue delay, within one month at most.
